We are delighted to welcome Thiossane Institute to the Jefferson Avenue Center! Founded in 2000, the group works to preserve and present traditional West African dance, music, and culture through performances, instruction, lectures, and community collaborations. The organization is the recipient of the Jefferson’s second Black Leadership Matters grant, which provides office space for two years. This Jefferson Avenue Center initiative is a step towards building the capacity of Black-led nonprofit groups to attract resources that are commensurate with the important roles these organizations and their leaders play in the central Ohio community. We are looking forward to the jolt of joy and energy that West African culture will bring to our dynamic tenant mix.
